Abstract:The tunnel exterior brightness L20(S)is a key parameter in tunnel lighting design.Through on-site testing and data analysis, the variation patterns of tunnel exterior brightness under different times of day and weather conditions have been clarified. The study found that the tunnel exterior brightness is highest during midday, and cloud cover significantly reduces overall brightness. The larger the vegetation coverage area, the lower the regional brightness.Additionally, the sky occupancy rate is positively correlated with the regional average brightness.Furthermore, different tunnel portal types show significant differences in their contribution to tunnel exterior brightness, with the end-wall portal contributing higher brightness.Based on the above findings, this paper proposes recommendations for optimizing tunnel lighting design, including the rational planning of vegetation, reducing sky occupancy, and using lower brightness tunnel portal materials.Additionally,it is suggested to adopt an intelligent control system to dynamically adjust the interior lighting brightness to improve driving safety and save energy. This study provides a scientific basis for tunnel lighting design, and is of great significance for enhancing tunnel traffic safety.
