Abstract:The elements that make up urban nightscapes are complex and often conflict compete with each other, leading to confusion between primary and secondary elements, chaotic effects, and brightness comparison. This results in negative impacts such as lack of aesthetic appeal, inefficiency, and excessive lighting. This paper proposes an integrated design method for urban nightscapes. According to this method, each element of the nightscape is analyzed individually, and these elements are classified based on brightness, energy efficiency, scarcity, and functionality. The importance and priorities of each element are clarified, the relationships between different types of light are managed, and a distinction is made between primary and secondary elements. This approach avoids conflicts and brightness comparison, ultimately achieving a harmonious overall effect for the nightscape.
