The Preparation and Performance Evaluation of Deuterium Lamps with Magnesium Fluoride Window

Abstract：Deuterium lamps with magnesium fluoride window can provide radiation in the Vacuum Ultraviolet ( VUV) and Ultraviolet ( UV) bands,with application in various fields. This paper presents the development of a domestically manufactured magnesium fluoride window deuterium lamp light source system,which includes a deuterium discharge tube with a magnesium fluoride window in a quartz bulb,a lamp fixture with both heat dissipation and vacuum sealing functions,and high-stability power supply. The output wavelength range of the developed deuterium lamp light source is 115～400 nm,with a radiant brightness greater than 150 μW/( mm2 Sr nm ) at 170 nm. The effective lifetime,during which the ultraviolet irradiance rate remains above 50％,reaches 1200 h.
