Abstract:The study conducted a comparative experiment(n=24)on glare assessment of lighting scenes under real and virtual reality environments, using the sports hall of Weijin Road Campus of Tianjin University as a case study. The aim was to investigate the potential application and reliability of virtual reality technology in glare evaluation. The results revealed a strong correlation between glare scores obtained from real and virtual reality environments:the Pearson correlation coefficient for glare scores in the two groups was 0.785 for lighting scene.Regression model for is Glare=0.861 Glare(VR)+0.193 with R square value 0.767.The virtual reality environment offers a more precise quantification of glare levels in stadium lighting scenes.Virtual reality technology is reasonably reliable for evaluating glare and presents a new, intuitive method for assessing stadium lighting glare.
