Abstract:The white LED lighting environment contains almost no ultraviolet spectral components below 420 nm. Therefore, fluorescent whitening material in paper, textiles and others cannot be excited by ultraviolet radiation, and the fluorescent whitening additive is ineffective. For ordinary colorimetry and whiteness measurement instruments, it is necessary to filter out the ultraviolet spectral components below 420 nm of the instrument illumination source, for example, using white LEDs or using 420 nm UV filters with xenon illumination to obtain the color of the samples, so as to evaluate the color and whiteness under white LED illumination conditions. In the future, with the popularization of white LEDs, it is recommended that the manufacturing industry reduce the inefficient addition of fluorescent whitening additive for indoor products. It is also recommended that the color evaluation standards for indoor products gradually adopt to the white LED standard illumination issued by CIE 15:2018.
