Abstract:EMU driver' s cab lighting environment has the momentous function of ensuring the visual task of the train driver. Reflected glare is one of the main factors affecting the quality of the driver ' s cab lighting. Improper selection of lamps, inappropriate lighting and furnishing design, and inappropriate driver' s cab spatial layout generate reflected glare and affect traffic safety. Based on the theory of optometry and ray-tracing algorithm, by using visual simulation software, the driver' s visual simulation environment is set up to simulate the real human visual perception. By adjusting the number of lamps, lamps' position and the selection of appropriate lamps, the effect of the driver' s cab reflected glare to the driver' s operation can be effectually controlled.
