Effect of Highway Tunnel Illumination Light Source on Fatigue
Yang Yong
Abstract:According to the difference of human optical response to different wavelengths of light radiation , in order to increase lighting comfort , light sources commonly used in highway tunnel were tested respectively as the only light source .Samples involved are high pressure sodium lamp ( HPS) and three kinds of white LEDs with different correlated color temperature (CCT).At different background brightness conditions , the flicker fusion frequency ( FFF) of subjects were tested and recorded .Statistics showed that the FFF value of the same light is proportional to the background brightness .Under the same background brightness the FFF of HPS is the minimum, and the sample of white LED with higher CCT has higher FFF than white LED with lower CCT .The“citopic brightness” was calculated by human citopic vision spectral efficiency function and emission spectra of lamp samples .It can be used to characterize the biological effects of human vision . Citopic brightness values were consistent with the results in FFF test: the lamp sample with significant influence on the biological effects showed higher FFF , meaning on the inhibition effect of fatigue was more obvious.
