Abstract:Take Nanjing Forestry University ( NJFU) Badminton Hall as the example, theoretical and experimental studies of the lighting system reconstruction was carried out in this paper.A modification program was proposed by using high-brightness and long-life LED.The associated verification test was done with several T5 LED lamps. The results show that the relationship between illumination and distance, as well as illumination and number of the lamp is linear when the distance is 6m ~10m.So 340 lamps was equipped in the new lighting system of NJFU badminton hall (46.57m ×22.56m ×9.06m), hanging on the ceiling along the longitudinal direction of the badminton courts. The total power is 6.12kW, decreased 62.8% than the old lighting system. The results have basically reached the minimum illuminance requirements of the national standard. Therefore, this indicates that the new program about LED lighting system is feasible. This case should be a useful reference for other similar gymnasium’s lighting system reconstruction.
