Electric Shock Protection in Street Lighting in Terms of Safety and Reliability

Abstract：In recent years , lighting electric shock accidents have occurred in many cities .The paper analyzes reasons which cause the accidents and protection methods against electric shock , makes comparison of grounding modes generally used in road lighting such as TN-C, TN-S, TT, and investigates the effectiveness of protection by switching off power supply automatically under single fault and double faults . For both safety and reliability of road lighting system , the paper presents a protecting method combined TN-S earthing mode over current protection and leakage monitoring .In addition, the paper proposes protection method in double faults .
