Abstract：Urban street lighting develops very rapidly .It has become critical for sustainable streetlight management development to reduce lighting energy consumption and improve lighting quality and energy efficiency .The enormous numbers of streetlights has raised higher requirements to their management .The article introduces basic information collection for streetlights through the streetlights energy-saving improvement process .The information collection could help to establish the geographic information system of streetlight and build a foundation for subsequent introduction of various streetlight smart systems .
