Abstract：Based on the design of modern Buddhist temples and churches , the article analyzes the application of light , the natural elements , in the modern religious architecture design to show the natural shape of light elements to religious spiritual force . This article expounds the essential connotation of combination of natural spirit and religious architecture and its spiritual beliefs . It is important for highlighting the local characteristics of different cultures and excavating theology of the spirit of religious buildings .It also has great significance for creating modern religious architecture construction with time characteristics .
