Abstract：In order to improve the efficiency of LED packaged lighting source and solve the problem of illumination uniformity , the optical design for LED packaged lighting source and its optimization are really needed .In this paper , the research progress of the optical design for different LEDs packaged sources , such as the point light source and the extended source , and free-form surface lens , are introduced and analyzed . The development tendency of optical design for LED lighting are discussed .
