Abstract:Objective To investigate the intervention effect of a diversified nursing model on elderly patients with chronic heart failure(CHF)and malnutrition. Methods A total of 200 elderly patients with CHF and malnutrition ad-mitted to The Affiliated People's Hospital of Jiangsu University from July 2024 to July 2025 were selected as the study sub-jects.They were randomly divided into an observation group(receiving the diversified nursing model,n=100)and a control group(receiving routine nursing care,n=100)using a random number table.Nutrition-related indicators[serum albumin(ALB),hemoglobin(Hb),prealbumin(PA)],cardiac function-related indicators[left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)],negative emotions(SAS score and SDS score),quality of life(MLHFQ score),and the time required for improvement in cardiac function and nutritional status were compared. Results Before the interven-tion,there were no significant differences between the two groups in ALB,Hb,PA,LVEF,BNP,SAS score,SDS score, and MLHFQ score(P>0.05).After the intervention, all the above indicators improved significantly compared to pre-interven-tion levels in both groups.Furthermore, the ALB,Hb,PA,and LVEF in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.001),while the SAS score,SDS score,BNP,and MLHFQ score were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).The time required for a 2-grade improvement in cardiac function(P<0.001)and the time for nutritional status to return to normal(P<0.001)were significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group. Conclusion In the treatment of elderly patients with CHF and malnutrition, the diversified nursing model is beneficial in correcting mal-nutrition,improving cardiac function, alleviating negative emotions, enhancing quality of life, and shortening the time re-quired for improvement in both cardiac function and nutritional status.
