Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical application value of Ultrasound Biomicroscopy(UBM)examination in patients with Acute Angle-Closure Glaucoma(AACG)complicated by ciliary body detachment after an attack.Meth-ods One hundred patients diagnosed with AACG after an attack at the Department of Ophthalmology,Beijing Fangshan District First Hospital from January 2019 to December 2023 were selected as the observation group.Concurrently,100 healthy individuals undergoing physical examinations were randomly selected as the control group. The anatomical struc-ture parameters of the eyes were compared between the two groups. The state of ciliary body detachment and the angle opening status were analyzed in the observation group. Results The lens thickness in the observation group was signif-icantly greater than that in the control group(P<0.001).The anterior chamber depth, axial length,angle-opening distance at 500 μm(AOD500),and trabecular-ciliary process distance in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).There was also a difference in iris configuration between the two groups. The observation group predominantly presented with a convex iris configuration(94.00%),while the control group mainly exhibited a flat iris con-figuration(97.00%).Regarding ciliary body detachment status, partial ciliary body detachment was the main type(62.00%),and 360-degree ciliary body detachment accounted for 38.00%.Conclusion UBM examination can accurately reveal the ocular anatomical structural characteristics and the status of ciliary body detachment in patients with AACG complicat-ed by ciliary body detachment, providing unique clinical value for the research, diagnosis, and treatment of angle-closure glaucoma.
