Abstract:Objective This study aimed to compare the efficacy of different doses of budesonide combined with sal-butamol via nebulization in the treatment of acute exacerbations of bronchial asthma. Methods Sixty patients with mild to moderate acute exacerbations of bronchial asthma admitted to our hospital from March 2023 to March 2025 were selected and randomly divided into two groups, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received 0.5 mg budesonide+5 mg salbutamol via nebulization, while the observation group received 1 mg budesonide+5 mg salbutamol via nebulization, twice daily for 7 days. The time to symptom relief, the rate of complete symptom control at day 7,pulmonary function in-dices[forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV₁),FEV₁/forced vital capacity(FVC),peak expiratory flow(PEF)],and in-flammatory markers[interleukin-4(IL-4),IL-5,IL-13,fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO)]were compared between the two groups. Results The time to disappearance of wheezing(P<0.001)and the time to reduction of cough to mild level(P<0.001)were shorter in the observation group than in the control group. The rate of complete symptom control at day 7 was higher in the observation group than in the control group(86.67%vs.63.33%,P=0.037).After treatment, improvements in FEV₁(P=0.018),FEV₁/FVC(P=0.012),and PEF(P=0.046)were greater in the observation group than in the control group. The levels of IL-4,IL-5,IL-13,and FeNO after treatment were also significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.001).Conclusion For mild to moderate acute exacerbations of bronchial asthma, nebulization with 1 mg budesonide combined with salbutamol is superior to the 0.5 mg dose regimen in promoting symptom relief, improving pulmonary function, and reducing airway inflammation, demonstrating better clinical efficacy.
