Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of systematic enhanced emergency treatment in patients with trau-matic hemopneumothorax complicated by shock. Methods A total of 60 patients with traumatic hemopneumothorax complicated by shock admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery,Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from March 2022 to March 2025 were selected as the study subjects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into an observation group(receiving systematic enhanced emergency treatment on the basis of conventional emer-gency care,30 cases)and a control group(receiving only conventional emergency treatment,30 cases).Vital signs, blood gas indicators,shock-related parameters, complication rates, and prognosis were compared between the two groups.Re-sults Before treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO₂),partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO₂),oxygen saturation(SpO₂),pH value, shock index,or urine output(P>0.05).At 24 hours after treatment, all the above vital signs, blood gas indicators, and shock-related parameters were significantly improved in both groups, and the improvement was more pronounced in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.001).Compared with the control group, the observation group had a lower complication rate(13.33%vs.36.67%,P=0.037),shorter hospital stay(P<0.001),and lower mortality rate(3.33%vs.20.00%,P=0.044).Conclusion Systematic enhanced emergency treatment can effectively improve vital signs, blood gas indicators, and shock-related parameters in patients with traumatic hemopneumothorax complicated by shock, reduce the complication rate and mortality, and shorten hospital stay.
