Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical value of arthroscopic-assisted reduction and fixation in the treatment of ankle fractures. Methods Sixty patients with ankle fractures admitted to Lianjiang County General Hospital from March 2022 to March 2025 were selected as the study subjects.According to the different methods of open reduction and internal fixation, they were divided into a control group(traditional open reduction and internal fixation,30 cases)and an observation group(arthroscopic-assisted reduction and fixation,30 cases).Postoperative pain levels, ankle joint function and range of motion recovery, and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the VAS scores in both groups showed a decreasing trend.Compared with the control group, the VAS scores in the observation group were significantly lower on postoperative day 1(P=0.023),day 3(P=0.001),and day 5(P<0.001).After treatment, the AOFAS scores, plantar flexion range of motion, and dorsiflexion range of motion in both groups showed an increasing trend.Compared with the control group, the AOFAS scores, plantar flexion range of motion, and dorsiflexion range of motion in the observation group were significantly higher at 1 month,3 months,6 months, and 12 months postoperatively(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(10.00%vs.33.33%,P=0.028).Conclusion In the treatment of ankle fracture patients, arthroscopically assisted reduction and fixation is superior to traditional open reduction and internal fixation in terms of alleviating postoperative pain, promoting ankle func-tion recovery, and reducing the risk of postoperative complications.
