Abstract:Objective To explore the independent risk factors for mortality in patients with bacterial pneumonia treated in the emergency department(ED)resuscitation room. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 50 patients with bacterial pneumonia admitted to the ED resuscitation room of our hospital from June 2020 to June 2025.According to the outcome, patients were divided into a death group(n=15)and a survival group(n=35).Clinical data, laboratory indicators, and disease severity scores were collected and compared between the two groups.Univariate analysis was used to screen for statistically significant variables, and multivariate Logistic regression analysis(backward LR method)was further performed to identify independent risk factors for mortality. Results Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences between the death group and the survival group in terms of age, proportion of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)score,Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II(APACHE II)score, levels of C-reactive protein(CRP),albumin(ALB),cardiac troponin T(cTnT),and D-dimer(all P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis ultimately identified that SOFA score(OR=1.671,95%CI:1.294~2.153,P=0.024),CRP(OR=1.017,95%CI:1.004~1.029,P=0.013),and ALB(OR=0.904,95%CI:0.826~0.992,P=0.041)were independent risk factors for patient mortality. Conclusion Elevated SOFA score, elevated CRP level, and decreased ALB level are independent risk factors for mortality in patients with bacte-rial pneumonia in the ED resuscitation room.Clinical attention should focus on these indicators to facilitate early identifi-cation of high-risk patients and guide intervention, thereby improving prognosis
