Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of psychological intervention combined with symptom assess-ment nursing on the prognosis of patients with sinusitis complicated by acute asthma attacks during emergency treat-ment.Methods A total of 40 patients with sinusitis complicated by acute asthma attacks admitted to Zhongshan Hos-pital affiliated with Xiamen University from January 2021 to December 2024 were selected as study subjects.According to the different nursing interventions implemented, they were divided into an observation group(20 cases)and a control group(20 cases). The study compared the efficacy-related indicators, lung function, and psychological status between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had fewer asthma attacks, shorter asthma remission time, shorter sinusitis symptom relief time, and shorter hospital stay(P<0.001).Upon admission, there were no significant differences between the two groups in FEV1(P=0.470),FVC(P=0.579),PEF(P=0.401),FEV1/FVC(P=0.539),SAS score(P=0.732),and SDS score(P=0.857).After 7 days of treatment, lung function indicators and psychological status scores improved in both groups, with the observation group showing significantly higher FEV1(P<0.001),FVC(P=0.004),PEF(P=0.002),and FEV1/FVC(P<0.001),and significantly lower SAS score(P<0.001)and SDS score(P<0.001)compared to the control group. Conclusion In the emergency treatment of patients with sinusitis complicated by acute asthma attacks, psychological intervention combined with symptom assessment nursing can effectively shorten the time for symptom relief, improve the patients'lung function, and alleviate anxiety and depression.
