Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of amiodarone in the emergency treatment of heart failure(HF)complicated with rapid atrial fibrillation(AF).Methods One hundred patients with HF and rapid AF admitted to Ant-ing Hospital,Jiading District,Shanghai, from January 2023 to May 2025 were selected as the study subjects.Based on the emergency treatment protocol, they were divided into a control group(n=50)and an observation group(n=50).Ventricular rates at different time points,AF conversion status, treatment efficacy, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in ventricular rate between the two groups(P=0.310).After treatment, the ventricular rates in both groups showed a decreasing trend over time.At 30 min,1 h,6 h,12 h,and 24 h post-treatment,the ventricular rates in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).Compared to the control group, the observation group had significantly higher conver-sion rates within 3 hours(P=0.046),within 3-8 hours(P=0.026),and the total conversion rate(P=0.006),a significantly shorter conversion time(P<0.001),and a significantly higher overall clinical effective rate(94.00%vs.76.00%,P=0.012).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(10.00%vs.14.00%,P=0.538).Conclusion In the emergency treatment of patients with HF and rapid AF,amiodarone can rapidly and effec-tively reduce ventricular rate, restore sinus rhythm more quickly, demonstrates significant clinical efficacy, and has a high safety profile.
