Research on the Application Value of Irregular Antibody Screening in Emergency and Emergency Blood Transfusion

Abstract：Objective To explore the application value of irregular antibody screening in emergency blood transfusion.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 80 patients requiring emer-gency blood transfusion admitted to the Emergency Department of Shuyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medi-cine in Jiangsu Province from January 2023 to December 2024.According to whether irregular antibody screening was performed,the patients were divided into an observation group(irregular antibody screening+routine blood type identification,n=40)and a control group(routine blood type identification only,n=40).The incidence of trans-fusion-related adverse reactions,transfusion efficacy,recovery time-related indicators,and the results of irregular antibody screening in the observation group were compared between the two groups.Results The incidence of transfusion-related adverse reactions in the observation group was 12.50%,significantly lower than 37.50%in the control group(P=0.010).One case of hemolytic transfusion reaction occurred in the control group.Before transfu-sion,there were no significant differences in hemoglobin(P=0.394)and hematocrit levels(P=0.163)between the two groups.After transfusion,hemoglobin and hematocrit levels increased in both groups(P<0.05),with the levels in the observation group being significantly higher than those in the control group(hemoglobin,P<0.001;hemat-ocrit,P<0.001).The bleeding cessation time(P<0.001)and shock correction time(P<0.001)in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group.Among the 40 patients in the observation group,5 had positive irregular antibody screening,with a positive rate of 12.50%.Antibody specificity identification re-vealed one case each of anti-D,anti-K,anti-E,anti-C,and anti-M antibodies.Conclusion Irregular antibody screening in emergency blood transfusion can reduce the risk of transfusion-related adverse reactions,improve transfusion efficacy,and ensure the safety and effective-ness of blood transfusion.
