Abstract:Objective To explore an emergency nursing model for difficult airway management during emergence from anesthesia in obese patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Meth-ods A retrospective analysis was conducted of clinical data from 68 obese patients with OSAHS who underwent surgical treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University between January 2023 and December 2024.Based on the emergency nursing model implemented, patients were categorized into a control group(n=34)and an observation group(n=34).Outcomes compared between groups included intubation parameters, time to emer-gence,length of hospital stay, incidence of post-extubation complications, and satisfaction with nursing care.Re-sults Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly shorter intubation time, time to emergence, and length of hospital stay(all P<0.001),a higher intubation success rate(P=0.046),a lower overall incidence of post-extubation complications(8.82%vs.35.29%,P=0.007),and higher satisfaction with nursing care(97.06%vs.79.41%,P=0.024).Conclusion An optimized emergency nursing model can effectively improve the management of difficult airways during emergence from anesthesia in obese patients with OSAHS,increasing intu-bation success and satisfaction with nursing care, shortening intubation time, emergence time, and hospital stay, and reducing the risk of post-extubation complications.
