Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy of the combined application of Sanjin Paishi Decoction, lithotripsy exercise, and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL)in the treatment of ureteral stones.Meth-ods A total of 80 patients with ureteral stones admitted to Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Inner Mongolia Hospital between February 2024 and February 2025 were selected as study subjects.Using a random number table method, they were divided into an experimental group(receiving Sanjin Paishi Decoction combined with lithotripsy exercise as an adjuvant to ESWL,40 case)and a control group(receiving ESWL alone,40 case).Stone expulsion rate, pain level, renal function, and C-reactive protein(CRP)levels were compared between the two groups. Results The time to first stone expulsion in the experimental group was significantly shorter than that in the control group(P<0.001),and the stone expulsion rate was significantly higher(P=0.018).Postoperative-ly,the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)scores of both groups gradually decreased, with the experimental group show-ing significantly lower scores at 24 hours(P=0.003),1 week(P<0.001),and 2 weeks(P<0.001)after surgery compared to the control group. Before treatment, there were no significant differences in serum creatinine, urea nitrogen,or CRP levels between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, these parameters decreased in both groups, with the experimental group exhibiting significantly lower serum creatinine(P=0.003),urea nitrogen(P=0.038),and CRP(P<0.001)levels than the control group. Conclusion The combined regimen of Sanjin Paishi Decoction and lithotripsy exercise as an adjuvant to ESWL significantly improves stone expulsion rate, shortens the time to first stone expulsion, alleviates pain, improves renal function, and reduces inflammatory response in patients with ureteral stones.
