Analysis of Comprehensive Interventions on Improving Treatment Outcomes and Influencing Factors for Pediatric Diabetic Ketoacidosis

Abstract：Objective To investigate the impact of comprehensive interventions on improving treatment outcomes and factors influencing the time to correct acidosis in children with diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA).Meth-ods A total of 46 pediatric patients with DKA admitted to Suzhou Municipal Hospital between January 2023 and January 2024 were selected as subjects.Using computer-generated random number tables,they were divided into an observation group(comprehensive interventions,n=23)and a control group(routine interventions,n=23).Clin-ical indicators,hospitalization-related metrics,glycemic control efficacy,and complication rates were compared between the two groups.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to identify factors influencing the time to cor-rect acidosis.Results The time to achieve target blood glucose,time to urinary ketone negativity,time to correct acidosis,and length of hospital stay were significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group(P＜0.001).Hospitalization costs were also lower in the observation group P＜0.001).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)levels between the two groups(P=0.400).Three months af-ter discharge,HbA1c levels were significantly lower in the observation group P＜0.001).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the time to correct acidosis was significantly shorter in the comprehensive interven-tion group than in the routine care group(β=-2.154,95％CI:-3.721 to-0.583,P＜0.001).Initial pH(β=-2.102,P=0.011)and HbA1c level(β=0.207,P=0.048)were independent influencing factors for the time to correct acidosis.Although age did not reach statistical sig-nificance(β=-0.209,P=0.095),it showed a trend toward faster recovery in older children.The total complication rate in the observation group was 13.04％(3/23),significantly lower than that in the control group(43.48％,10/23;P=0.019).Conclusion Comprehensive interventions play a crucial role in the treatment of pediatric DKA,sig-nificantly improving treatment efficiency,promoting recovery,and enhancing prognosis.
