Abstract:Objective To investigate the impact of a protocolized emergency fast-track("green channel")care pathway on emergency timelines and outcomes in patients with acute stroke. Methods This retrospective study included 80 patients with acute stroke admitted to Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and Binzhou Peo-ple's Hospital from January 2022 to January 2024.Patients were grouped by emergency care model into an ob-servation group(n=40)managed with an emergency fast-track pathway and a control group(n=40)managed with the conventional emergency workflow.Between-group comparisons included time intervals at key emergency care nodes(door-to-cranial CT time,door-to-laboratory testing time, and time from definitive diagnosis to special-ty treatment),incidence of adverse events, neurological impairment assessed by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),and the overall effective rate of emergency treatment. Results Door-to-cranial CT time,door-to-laboratory testing time, and time from definitive diagnosis to specialty treatment were all significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.001).The overall incidence of adverse events was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(7.50%vs.27.50%,P=0.019).Before intervention,NIHSS scores did not differ significantly between groups(P>0.05).After intervention,NIHSS scores decreased significantly in both groups;at 7 and 14 days post-intervention,NIHSS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(both P<0.001).The overall effective rate of emergency treatment was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(90.00%vs.72.50%,P=0.045).Conclusion A protocolized emergency fast-track("green channel")care pathway can effec-tively shorten emergency care timelines, reduce the incidence of adverse events, ameliorate neurological deficits, and improve the effectiveness of emergency treatment in patients with acute stroke.
