Analysis of the Application Effect of Refined Nursing in the Care of Elderly Patients with Hip Fracture

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of meticulous nursing care in older patients with hip fracture.Methods A total of 68 older adults with hip fracture admitted to The Fifth Hospital of Xiamen from January 2023 to December 2024 were enrolled.Using a random number table,participants were allocated to an observation group(meticulous nursing care)or a control group(routine nursing care),with 34 patients in each group.The two groups were compared in terms of excellent-to-good clinical outcome rate,incidence of compli-cations,pain assessed by the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),hip function assessed by the Harris Hip Score(HHS),and quality-of-life scores.Results The excellent-to-good clinical outcome rate was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(88.24％vs.67.65％,P=0.041).The overall incidence of complications was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(5.88％vs.26.47％,P=0.021).Postop-eratively,VAS pain scores decreased over time in both groups;at postoperative days 1,3,and 7,VAS scores were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(all P＜0.001).Preoperatively,there was no significant difference in HHS between groups(P＞0.05).Postoperatively,HHS increased over time in both groups;at 1,3,and 6 months after surgery,HHS was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(all P＜0.001).At admission,there were no significant between-group differences in quality-of-life scores across four domains(physical function,psychological function,social function,and material life)(all P＞0.05).Three months after discharge,scores in all four domains im-proved in both groups,with significantly higher scores in the observation group than in the control group(all P＜0.001).Conclusion In older patients with hip fracture,meticulous nursing care can effectively improve clinical outcomes,reduce the risk of complications,alle-viate postoperative pain,promote recovery of hip function,and enhance quality of life.
