Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated physician-nurse emergency care model in the treatment of patients with severe polytrauma. Methods In this retrospective study,80 patients with severe polytrauma admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to January 2025 were included.According to the emergen-cy care model received, patients were assigned to a control group(conventional emergency care model,n=40)or an observation group(integrated physician-nurse emergency care model,n=40).Emergency care effectiveness, efficiency metrics, incidence of complications, and satisfaction with emergency services were compared between groups. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had a significantly higher emergen-cy treatment success rate(92.50%vs.72.50%,P=0.019).The observation group also showed significantly shorter emergency department length of stay(P<0.001),emergency response time(P<0.001),and preoperative preparation time(P<0.001)than the control group. The overall incidence of complications was significantly lower in the ob-servation group than in the control group(control vs observation:7.50%vs.25.00%,P=0.034).Patient satisfaction with emergency services was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(95.00%vs.77.50%,P=0.023).Conclusion In the management of patients with severe polytrauma, the integrated physician-nurse emergency care model significantly improves the success rate of emergency treatment, shortens emergency care time, reduces the risk of complications, and enhances patient satisfaction with emergency services.
