Analysis of the Current Status and Influencing Factors of Disaster Literacy Among Emergency Medical Rescue Team Members:A Case Study of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps

Abstract：Objective To analyze the current disaster literacy status of emergency medical rescue team members in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps(hereinafter referred to as"the Corps"),focusing on factors such as age,education level,workplace,and position,and to identify the primary influencing factors affect-ing disaster literacy.Based on this,recommendations will be made to improve the disaster literacy level of emer-gency medical rescue team members in the Corps.Methods A stratified random sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey among emergency medical rescue team members from various-scale teams of the Corps between September and October 2024.The survey analyzed the current status and influencing factors of disaster literacy in terms of demographic characteristics,professional characteristics,disaster rescue experience,and disaster literacy.Statistical analysis was performed using t-tests,ANOVA,and multiple linear regression.Results A total of 121 emergency medical rescue team members were surveyed.The average disaster literacy score was(141.79±24.82).Significant statistical differences were found in disaster literacy scores based on age,education level,workplace,participation in emergency public health plan formulation,involvement in tabletop ex-ercises,participation in disaster rescue theoretical training,and practical disaster rescue training(P＜0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,education level,workplace,participation in tabletop exercises,and practical disaster rescue training significantly influ-enced the disaster literacy levels of emergency medical rescue team members(P＜0.05).Conclusion The disaster literacy level of emergency medical personnel in the Corps still requires improvement.Future efforts should focus on optimizing the composition of emergency medi-cal rescue teams,recruiting high-level talents,enhancing the disaster literacy of health administrative personnel,strengthening team management and role assignment,and promoting a combination of online and offline training with theoretical and practical elements.These measures will comprehensively improve the disaster literacy level of emergency personnel in the Corps.
