Abstract:Objective To analyze the efficacy of intravenous esomeprazole sodium in the treatment of pep-tic ulcer bleeding(PUB)and its effects on serum inflammatory factors. Methods A total of 200 PUB patients admitted to the gastroenterology and digestive internal medicine departments of our hospital from October 2022 to July 2024 were selected. These patients were randomly assigned to the control group and the observation group, each consisting of 100 patients, using a random number table. The control group received pantoprazole sodium treatment, while the observation group received esomeprazole sodium treatment. Both groups were treated for 3 consecutive days. The clinical hemostasis efficacy rate on days 3 and 5 after treatment, hemostasis time,hospital-ization duration, blood transfusion volume, incidence of adverse reactions, and rebleeding rate within 7 days were compared.Additionally, laboratory parameters before treatment and on day 7 after treatment, including white blood cell count(WBC),hemoglobin(HB),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),inflammatory factors[interleukin(IL)-4,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)],and immune factors[immunoglob-ulin(IgG,IgA,IgM]were evaluated. Results On days 3 and 5 after treatment, the clinical hemostasis efficacy rate in the observation group was significantly higher than in the control group. The hemostasis time,hospitaliza-tion duration, blood transfusion volume, and incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group were all signif-icantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the rebleeding rate within 7 days(P>0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of WBC,HB,ESR,IL-4,TNF-α,hs-CRP,IgG,IgA,and IgM levels(P>0.05).After treatment,WBC,ESR,IL-4,TNF-α,and hs-CRP levels were significantly decreased, while HB,IgG,IgA,and IgM levels were significantly increased in both groups. The changes in the observation group were more fa-vorable than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Intravenous esomeprazole sodium is effective in treating PUB,as it significantly improves clinical outcomes, accelerates hemostasis, enhances recovery, and strengthens im-mune function, ultimately benefiting patient prognosis.
