Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of comfort care interventions in the perioperative period of acute cholecystitis patients. Methods A total of 100 acute cholecystitis patients who underwent surgi-cal treatment at Mengchao Hepatobiliary Hospital,Fujian Medical University, from June 2022 to June 2023 were enrolled in the study.According to a random number table method, the patients were divided into the observation group(comfort care,n=50)and the control group(conventional care,n=50).The perioperative indicators,post-in-tervention improvement in negative emotions, quality of life, comfort, and pain levels,as well as postoperative complications and nursing satisfaction, were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group showed significantly less intraoperative blood loss than the control group, with shorter operation time, time to first ambulation, drainage time, and hospital stay(P<0.001).After the intervention, the observation group had signifi-cantly lower scores on the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)compared to the control group(P<0.001).The observation group also showed significantly higher scores in physical function, bodily pain, social function, emotional role, and mental health domains of the quality of life scale compared to the control group(P<0.05).The Bruyère Comfort Scale(BCS)score in the observation group was significantly high-er than in the control group(P<0.05),while the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)for static pain was significantly lower(P<0.001).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than in the control group(4.00%vs.16.00%,P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction in the observation group was sig-nificantly higher than in the control group(98.00%vs.86.00%,P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing com-fort care interventions during the perioperative period can effectively improve negative emotions, enhance quality of life and comfort, reduce pain levels and the risk of postoperative complications, and increase nursing satisfaction in acute cholecystitis patients.
