Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of 3D printing and assisted reduction technology in the treatment of elderly patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures. Methods A total of 120 elderly patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures, treated at the People's Hospital of Yanzhou District,Jining, from January 2023 to December 2024,were included in this study.According to a random number table method, patients were divided into the observation group(60 cases treated with 3D printing-assisted intramedullary nail reduction)and the control group(60 cases treated with traditional imaging-assisted intramedullary nail reduction). The surgical-related indicators, healing time-related indicators, hip joint function, and postoperative complications were compared be-tween the two groups. Results The observation group showed significantly less intraoperative blood loss,short-er surgical time, fewer fluoroscopy times, shorter hospital stay, earlier weight-bearing time, and faster fracture heal-ing compared to the control group(P<0.001).Before surgery, there was no significant difference in Harris scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After surgery, the Harris scores increased in both groups, and the observation group had significantly higher Harris scores at 1 month,3 months, and 6 months post-surgery compared to the con-trol group(P<0.001).The overall complication rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(3.33%vs.16.67%,P<0.05).Conclusion 3D printing and assisted reduction technology can effec-tively shorten the surgical time, reduce intraoperative blood loss, accelerate fracture healing, decrease postoperative complications, and significantly improve postoperative functional recovery in elderly patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures.
