Abstract:Objective To explore the preventive effects of comprehensive nursing intervention on acute in-testinal obstruction and its impact on the rehabilitation of patients undergoing permanent colostomy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 86 colorectal cancer patients who underwent permanent colostomy at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from January 2022 to January 2024.Based on the nursing intervention approach, patients were divided into two groups:the observation group(comprehensive nursing intervention,n=43)and the control group(conventional nursing intervention,n=43).The incidence of postoperative acute intestinal obstruction, negative psychological status,self-care ability, sleep quality, quality of life, and nurs-ing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of acute intestinal obstruction in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(2.33%vs.11.63%,P<0.05).Before the intervention, there were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of negative psychological status,as assessed by the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),self-care ability, measured by the ESCA(self-care concepts,self-care knowledge,self-care skills,self-care responsibility),sleep quality(PSQI score),and quality of life(SF-36,including social function, physical function, mental health, and bod-ily pain)scores(P>0.05).After the intervention, compared with the control group, the observation group showed sig-nificantly lower SDS and SAS scores,as well as PSQI scores(P<0.001),and significantly higher scores in all four aspects of self-care ability and all four aspects of quality of life(P<0.001).The nursing satisfaction in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(95.35%vs.79.07%,P<0.05).Conclusion For patients undergoing permanent colostomy,com-prehensive nursing intervention can reduce the risk of acute intestinal obstruction, enhance self-care ability, improve negative psychological status, sleep quality, and quality of life, and increase nursing satisfaction.
