Study on the Impact of Disaster Rescue Scenario-Based Emergency Training on the Enhancement of Emergency Skills in Emergency and ICU Nurses

Abstract：Objective To explore the value of disaster rescue scenario-based emergency capability train-ing in enhancing the core competencies of ICU nurses.Methods A target sampling method was used to select 41 nurses with emergency and ICU specialty qualifications,who underwent disaster rescue scenario-based emer-gency capability training at Huai'an 82 Hospital from July 2022 to July 2024.The study analyzed the changes in nurses'theoretical knowledge,operational skills,core competencies,and critical thinking abilities before and after the training.Results After the training,the theoretical knowledge and operational skills of the 41 nurses showed significant improvement compared to before the training(P＜0.001).After the training,all core competency scores,including emergency rescue ability,basic rescue knowledge,survival knowledge in rescue operations,rescue-relat-ed legal knowledge,ICU specialty knowledge,leadership ability,clinical nursing ability,cooperation ability,and professional development,significantly increased compared to before the training(P＜0.001).In terms of critical thinking abilities,the analysis ability,open-mindedness,truth-seeking ability,systematic thinking ability,cognitive maturity,self-confidence,curiosity,and overall scores were all significantly higher post-training(P＜0.05).Con-clusion Disaster rescue scenario-based emergency capability training for emergency and ICU nurses effectively enhances their theoretical knowledge,operational skills,core disaster rescue competencies,and individual critical thinking abilities.The training has significant effects in improving their overall capabilities.
