Abstract:Objective To This study aims to investigate the clinical effects of nursing interventions for pa-tients with urinary tract stones in the emergency department. Methods A total of 80 patients diagnosed with urinary tract stones at Zunyi First People's Hospital from April 2022 to April 2024 were selected as subjects for this study.Patients were randomly assigned to either an observation group(comprehensive nursing intervention)or a control group(conventional nursing intervention)using a lottery method, with 40 patients in each group. The two groups were compared in terms of pain improvement[Visual Analog Scale(VAS),time to pain relief, effective rate of pain relief],psychological distress[Distress Thermometer(DT)],comfort level[General Comfort Ques-tionnaire(GCQ)],quality of life[Quality of Life BREF(QOL-BREF)],and occurrence of adverse reactions.Re-sults During the intervention period, there were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of pain level(VAS scores),psychological distress(DT scores),comfort level(GCQ scores),and quality of life(QOL-BREF scores)(P>0.05).After the intervention, both groups showed a significant decrease in VAS and DT scores compared to pre-intervention levels(P<0.05),while GCQ and QOL-BREF scores significantly increased(P<0.05).Furthermore,the observation group exhibited significantly lower VAS and DT scores compared to the control group(P<0.001),along with significantly higher GCQ and QOL-BREF scores(P<0.05).The average time for pain relief in the observation group was significantly shorter than in the control group(P<0.001),and the total effective rate of pain relief was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,the overall incidence of adverse reactions in the observa-tion group was significantly lower than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nurs-ing interventions for patients with urinary tract stones in the emergency department can effectively reduce pain levels, shorten the duration of pain, alleviate psychological distress, enhance comfort, improve quality of life, and lower the risk of adverse reactions.
