Abstract:Objective To explore the therapeutic efficacy of Ambroxol hydrochloride combined with Azith-romycin in the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia complicated by acute bronchitis. Methods A ret-rospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 68 children diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia com-plicated by acute bronchitis and admitted to the Fourth Hospital of Baotou City from January 2023 to December 2023.Based on the treatment regimen, the patients were divided into two groups:the observation group(Ambroxol hydrochloride combined with Azithromycin,n=34)and the control group(Azithromycin,n=34).The time required for improvement of clinical symptoms,inflammation-related indicators, pulmonary function parameters, blood ox-ygen-related indicators, and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results Compared to the control group, the observation group showed significantly shorter times for fever resolution, disappearance of cough and wheezing, resolution of sputum, disappearance of lung rales, resolution of chest X-ray shadows, and hospitali-zation duration(P<0.001).Before treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in serum inflammatory markers[interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT)],pulmonary function indicators[forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expira-tory volume in 1 second(FEV1),peak expiratory flow(PEF)],and blood gas indicators[arterial partial pres-sure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2),arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2)].After treatment, both groups showed significant decreases in IL-6,CRP,PCT,and PaCO2 levels(P<0.05)and significant increases in FEV1,FVC,PEF,PaO2,and SaO2 levels(P<0.05).Moreover,compared to the control group, the observation group exhibited significantly lower levels of IL-6(P<0.001),CRP(P<0.001),PCT(P<0.001),and PaCO2(P=0.017),and significantly higher levels of FEV1(P<0.001),FVC(P<0.001),PEF(P<0.001),PaO2(P=0.003),and SaO2(P=0.031),with statistically significant dif-ferences.The total clinical effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(97.06%vs.79.41%,P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia compli-cated by acute bronchitis, the regimen of Ambroxol hydrochloride combined with Azithromycin can promote the improvement of clinical symptoms, alleviate the inflammatory response, and improve pulmonary function and blood oxygen levels.
