Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effectiveness of low-dose oxytocin combined with a water bal-loon in the induction of labor for high-risk pregnancies at term. Methods 86 cases of high-risk full-term induced labor in Ma'anshan Seventeenth Metallurgical Hospital from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected to retro-spect study.Participants were divided into two groups based on cervical ripening methods:the control group(n=43)received low-dose oxytocin, while the observation group(n=43)received low-dose oxytocin in combination with a water balloon.Statistical analyses were conducted on cervical maturity, pain levels, psychological status, induction and delivery outcomes, clinical efficacy, mode of delivery, and adverse reactions. Results After intervention, the Bishop score in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Pain scores,as well as anxiety and depression scores, were lower in the observation group(P<0.05).The time from induction to active labor, and the durations of the first, second, and third stages of labor, were all shorter in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).The amount of bleeding 2 hours postpartum was less in the observation group(P<0.05),and the total effective rate was higher(P<0.05).The cesarean section rate was lower, while the vaginal de-livery rate was higher in the observation group(P<0.05).The incidence of clinical adverse reactions in both mothers and newborns was lower in the observation group(P<0.05).The birth weight and 5-minute Apgar scores of newborns were significantly higher in the observation group(P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical effect of using low-dose ox-ytocin combined with water sacs for full-term induction of high-risk pregnancy is good, with few adverse reactions, which can greatly improve the natural delivery rate,re-duce the cesarean section rate, and reduce maternal and infant complications.
