Abstract:Objective To analyze the effectiveness of ultrasound and CT in the diagnosis of urinary tract obstruction. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 120 patients who presented to the emergency department of Longyan Second Hospital with symptoms of urinary tract obstruction from October 2023 to Novem-ber 2024.All enrolled patients underwent both ultrasound and CT examinations,as well as a combined examina-tion.Clinical pathological diagnosis results were used as the gold standard. The positive diagnostic rate for each method was calculated, and the diagnostic efficacy of ultrasound,CT,and the combined approach was analyzed us-ing receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis. The performance of ultrasound and CT for urinary tract obstruction caused by different etiologies was also compared. Results When comparing the diagnostic times of the two methods, ultrasound had a shorter diagnostic time than CT(P<0.05).In terms of overall diagnostic efficacy, the combined use of ultrasound and CT was superior to either method alone in terms of sensitivity and accuracy. The area under the ROC curve(AUC)for the combined ultrasound and CT diagnosis was greater than that for CT alone, which was greater than that for ultrasound alone. The performance of ultrasound and CT varied with different etiologies of urinary tract obstruction. Conclusion Both ultrasound and CT are effective for diagnosing urinary tract obstruction and can be used for etiological diagnosis. The combined diagnostic approach demonstrates higher overall efficacy.
