Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness of emergency nursing interventions in the management of orthopedic trauma patients during emergency care. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 80 orthopedic trauma patients treated in the emergency department of Guangxi Zhuang Autono-mous Region People's Hospital from July 2021 to July 2023.Based on the type of nursing intervention, patients were divided into an observation group(emergency nursing intervention)and a control group(conventional nurs-ing intervention),with 40 patients in each group. The two groups were compared in terms of emergency response time, pain intensity, negative emotions, nighttime sleep quality, activities of daily living, and nursing satisfaction. Results The observation group had significantly shorter waiting times,as well as reduced times from admission to examination and from admission to treatment, compared to the control group(P<0.001).Preoperatively,there were no significant differences in pain intensity as measured by the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)between the two groups(P>0.05).Postoperatively,VAS scores for both groups showed a gradual decline at 6,24,48,and 72 hours, with sta-tistically significant differences(P<0.05);the observation group had significantly lower VAS scores than the control group(P<0.001).Prior to intervention, there were no significant differences in negative emotions, anxiety(Hamilton Anxiety Scale,HAMA),depression(Hamilton Depression Scale,HAMD),nighttime sleep duration, sleep quality(Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index,PSQI),or activities of daily living(Barthel Index)between the two groups(P>0.05).Post-intervention,both groups exhibited sig-nificant reductions in HAMA,HAMD,and PSQI scores(P<0.001),along with a significant increase in Barthel scores(P<0.001);the observation group had significantly lower HAMA,HAMD,and PSQI scores and a significantly higher Barthel score compared to the control group(P<0.001).The nursing satisfaction rate in the observation group was 97.50%(39/40),significantly higher than 72.50%(29/40)in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Emergency nursing interventions effectively reduce postoperative pain in orthopedic trauma patients, improve negative emo-tions and nighttime sleep quality, enhance activities of daily living, and increase patient satisfaction with nursing care, demonstrating high clinical application value.
