Abstract:Objective To explore and analyze the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic common bile duct explo-ration in elderly patients with common bile duct stones and acute cholangitis. Methods This study included 98 elderly patients diagnosed with common bile duct stones and acute cholangitis, who were treated in the emergency department of Beijing Yanhua Hospital,Xingcheng Campus, from May 2023 to May 2024.Randomly divided into two groups, with 49 patients in each group. The observation group underwent emergency laparoscopic common bile duct exploration, while the control group received traditional open abdominal common bile duct exploration.Inflammatory markers and surgical parameters were compared between the two groups, along with postoperative complications dur-ing follow-up.Results Statistical analysis revealed that inflammatory factor levels decreased significantly in both groups post-treatment,with the observation group exhibiting lower levels than the control group(P<0.05).Postopera-tively,the observation group had shorter time to flatus, reduced surgical duration, and shorter hospital stays compared to the control group, along with less intraoperative blood loss(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Emergency lap-aroscopic common bile duct exploration in elderly patients with common bile duct stones and acute cholangitis effec-tively improves inflammatory markers, reduces the incidence of postoperative complications, minimizes intraoperative blood loss, and shortens the time to flatus, surgical duration, and hospital stay.
