Current Status and Development of Trauma Care for Mass Casualty Incident

Abstract：The severe natural or technological disasters usually caused the massive casualty incident charac-terized by a large number of casualties,severe injuries and complex injury patterns,and a local medical resources squeeze,presenting a difficult challenge to the peacetime trauma care system.This paper reviewed the epidemiological characteristics of international and Chinese natural disasters and technological accidents in the past 20 years,discussed the primary mechanisms and trends in features of modern trauma.Comparing the main practices of advanced coun-tries,we analyzed the problems of Chinese trauma care system in terms of first-line treatment technology,equipment and training.Ultimately,we put forward specific recommendations to improve the capacity of trauma care in China.
