Abstract:Objective This study aims to investigate the impact of early cardiopulmonary rehabilitation nursing on the self-care abilities of patients with stroke. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 80 stroke patients who were admitted to the emergency department of Suqian Hospital,Jiangsu Province People's Hospital, from June 2021 to June 2024 and whose conditions had stabilized and were transferred to the rehabil-itation department. The patients were divided into an observation group and a control group, with 40 patients in each group, based on whether cardiopulmonary rehabilitation nursing was implemented. The limb function,self-care ability, psychological status, neurological function, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results Prior to the intervention, there were no significant differences in the Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)scores for upper and lower limbs,Barthel Index scores for self-care ability,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)scores,Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)scores, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)scores between the two groups. After the intervention, both groups showed significant increases in FMA and Barthel scores(P<0.001),along with significant decreases in SAS,SDS,and NIHSS scores(P<0.001).Furthermore,the obser-vation group exhibited significantly higher FMA and Barthel scores(P<0.001)and significantly lower SAS,SDS,and NIHSS scores(P<0.001)compared to the control group. Conclusion Implementing cardiopulmonary reha-bilitation nursing for stroke patients is beneficial in en-hancing limb function,self-care ability, psychological status, and neurological function, while also improving patient satisfaction with nursing care.
