Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of high-quality emergency nursing care in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)complicated by respiratory failure. Methods A retrospec-tive analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 60 COPD patients with respiratory failure who were treated at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University from March 2021 to March 2024.According to the different emergency nursing care models, the patients were divided into two groups:the observation group(con-ventional emergency nursing model)and the control group(high-quality emergency nursing model).Blood gas parameters, pulmonary function indicators, respiratory mechanics indices, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results Before nursing intervention, there were no significant differences in blood gas parameters, pulmonary function indicators,or respiratory mechanics indices between the two groups. After nurs-ing intervention, all these indicators significantly improved in both groups(P<0.05).Additionally,the observation group had significantly lower PaCO2,Pplat,and Paw levels compared to the control group(P<0.001),and signif-icantly higher PaO2,SpO2,PEF,FEV1,FVC,and PIP levels(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For COPD patients with respiratory failure,high-quality emergency nursing care can significantly improve blood gas parameters, enhance pulmonary and respiratory function to some extent, and notably increase patient satisfaction with nursing care.
