Efficacy Analysis of Traditional Chinese Medicine Combined with Manual Reduction and Splint Fixation in the Treatment of Acute Distal Radius Fractures

Abstract：Objective To analyze the clinical value of traditional Chinese medicine fracture manipulation combined with external fixation with small splints and traditional Chinese medicine treatment for acute distal ra-dius fractures.Methods 120 patients with acute distal radius fractures admitted to Taining County General Hospital in Fujian Province from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the research subjects.The random number table method was used as the grouping basis,and they were divided into an observation group(manual reduction+small splint fixation+Chinese medicine external application,60 cases)and a control group(manual re-duction+small splint fixation,60 cases).Compare the clinical efficacy,improvement time of clinical symptoms and fracture healing time,wrist joint function,wrist joint range of motion,and degree of wrist joint pain between two groups of patients.Results Compared with the control group patients,the total clinical effective rate of the ob-servation group patients was significantly higher(P＜0.05);The observation group showed significantly shorter pain resolution,swelling resolution,congestion resolution,deformity resolution,and fracture healing time(P＜0.001).After treatment,the Gartland Welley score and VAS score of both groups of patients decreased significantly com-pared to before treatment,while the range of motion for ulnar deviation,radial deviation,palmar flexion,and dorsi-flexion increased significantly compared to before treatment.Compared with the control group,the Gartland Welley score and VAS score of the observation group were significantly lower after treatment,and the range of motion for ulnar deviation,radial deviation,palmar flexion,and dorsiflexion was significantly higher(P values＜0.001).Con-clusion For patients with acute distal radius fractures,the treatment plan of traditional Chinese medicine fracture manual reduction combined with external fixa-tion with small splints and traditional Chinese medicine can significantly improve the function of the affected limb,increase the mobility of the affected limb,reduce the pain level of the affected limb,promote fracture healing,and have significant clinical efficacy.
