Abstract:Objective To analyze the efficacy of single-port laparoscopic high ligation of the hernia sac in pediatric inguinal hernia and its impact on incision aesthetics. Methods A total of 62 children with inguinal hernia who were treated at Zhangzhou City Hospital between January 2019 and September 2021 were included as retrospective subjects. The patients were divided into two groups:the observation group(undergoing single-port laparoscopic high ligation of the hernia sac,n=40)and the control group(undergoing small incision high ligation of the hernia sac,n=22).Perioperative indicators, incision aesthetic satisfaction, serum oxidative stress markers, pain levels, and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly shorter surgery time, time to first bowel movement, time to ambulation, and hospital stay, along with less intraoperative blood loss and shorter incisions(P<0.001).The ob-servation group also had higher satisfaction with the aesthetic appearance of the incision(P<0.001).At 24 hours post-surgery,serum levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD)significantly decreased, while malondialdehyde(MDA),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),and neuropeptide Y(NPY)levels significantly increased in both groups(P<0.001).Fur-thermore,compared to the control group, the observation group showed higher levels of SOD and lower levels of MDA,PGE2,and NPY(P<0.001).The visual analog scale(VAS)pain scores at 6,12,24,and 36 hours post-sur-gery were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.001).The incidence of postoperative complications was significantly lower in the observation group(P<0.05).Conclusion For pediatric inguinal hernia,single-port laparoscopic high ligation of the hernia sac causes less surgical trauma, effectively reduces surgery time and intraoperative blood loss, improves incision aesthetics, and reduces postopera-tive pain and stress. It also demonstrates a lower risk of postoperative complications.
