Abstract:Objective Comparison of the clinical efficacy and safety of extracorporeal shock wave litho-tripsy and ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy in the treatment of hydronephrosis on the affected side of ureteral stones. Methods Data from 90 patients with hydronephrosis on the affected side of ureteral stones admitted to San-ming First Hospital affiliated to Fujian Medical University from January 2022 to September 2023 were collected. They were randomly divided into two groups using a single blind method. The control group received extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL)treatment, while the observation group received ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy(URSL)treatment. The surgical safety and effectiveness of the two groups were compared. Results The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),and their surgical time and hospitalization time were longer than those in the control group(P<0.05);The postoperative hema-turia time and pain duration in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The im-provement level of postoperative renal function indicators in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);The total clearance rate of stones in the observation group was higher(P<0.05),and the levels of var-ious inflammatory factors after surgery were lower(P<0.05).Conclusion URSL shows a high stone clearance rate and good improvement effect in the treatment of hydronephrosis on the affected side of ureteral stones. However, the surgery time is longer and the incidence of complications is higher.ESWL has the advantages of simple operation and fewer complications, but the stone clearance rate is relatively low.Clinically, appropriate treatment methods should be selected based on the specific situation of the patient.
