Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of damage control theory in emergency treatment of pelvic fracture patients. Methods 70 patients with pelvic fractures admitted to the Orthopedics Department of Linshu County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from June 2021 to June 2024 were selected as the research subjects. According to different emergency measures, they were divided into an observation group (with injury con-trol measures) and a control group (with routine emergency treatment),with 35 patients in each group. Compare the emergency related indicators, emergency effectiveness, quality of life, and incidence of complications between two groups of patients. Results The observation group had significantly shorter emergency surgery time,intraopera-tive blood loss, and recovery time compared to the control group (P<0.001). After emergency treatment, the clinical emergency response rate of the observation group was 97.14% (34/35),significantly higher than that of the control group (80.00%) (28/35),P=0.024. The SF-36 quality of life psychological status, emotional role, physical state, physical role, pain level, social function, behavioral ability, and social ability scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Two patients in the observation group developed com-plications,with a total incidence rate of 5.71%,significantly lower than the eight patients in the control group who developed complications, with a total incidence rate of 22.86% (P=0.040). Conclusion Damage control emer-gency treatment can effectively shorten the surgical and recovery time of pelvic fracture patients, reduce bleeding, improve emergency outcomes, enhance patients' quality of life, and reduce the risk of complications.
