Comparative Study on the Efficacy and Safety of Phloroglucinol and Anisodamine in Emergency Treatment of Renal Colic

Abstract：Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of phloroglucinol versus anisodamine in the treat-ment of patients with acute renal colic.Methods A total of 126 patients with renal colic,who were treated at the Third People's Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to January 2023,were included for the study.Using a random number table method,the patients were divided into an obser-vation group(phloroglucinol+flurbiprofen ester)and a control group(anisodamine+flurbiprofen ester),with 63 patients in each group.The clinical efficacy,pain intensity,analgesic onset time,and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The clinical effective rate in the observation group was 96.83％,significantly higher than the 79.37％in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P=0.003).There was no significant difference in the baseline VAS pain scores(P＞0.05).After treatment,the VAS pain scores in both groups were significantly lower than before treatment(both P＜0.001),and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.001).The analgesic onset time(P＜0.001)and pain relief time(P＜0.001)in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group.The total incidence of ad-verse reactions in the observation group was 7.94％,significantly lower than the 22.22％in the control group.Con-clusion Compared with anisodamine,phloroglucinol has a significant clinical efficacy in treating patients with acute renal colic.It effectively alleviates pain,with better analgesic onset and safety profile.
