Abstract:Objective To compare the value of chemiluminescence immunoassay(CLIA)and radioimmu-noassay(RIA)in the diagnosis of thyroid tumors. Methods A total of 110 patients with suspected thyroid tum-ors,treated at the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from May 2022 to May 2024,were selected for the study. The biochemical indicator levels, thyroid tumor detection results, and diagnostic performance of the two different methods were compared. Results The levels of free triiodothyronine(FT3)(P<0.001),free thyroxine(FT4)(P<0.001),thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)(P<0.001),and thyroglobulin(P<0.001)measured by CLIA were significantly higher than those measured by RIA.Among the 110 patients with suspected thyroid tumors,88 cases were pathologically confirmed as positive and 22 as negative.CLIA detected 86 positive cases and 24 neg-ative cases, while RIA detected 82 positive cases and 28 negative cases. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of CLIA for diagnosing thyroid tumors were 95.45%,90.91%,and 94.55%,respectively,which were signifi-cantly higher than those of RIA,with a sensitivity of 79.55%,specificity of 45.45%,and accuracy of 72.73%(P<0.05).Conclusion Chemiluminescence immunoassay demonstrates higher sensitivity, specificity, and accu-racy in diagnosing thyroid tumors compared to radioimmunoassay.
