Abstract:Objective To explore effective pathways for constructing a scientific and clinically applica-ble evaluation system for the performance of closed thoracic drainage systems, and to analyze the current evi-dence-based medical management practices through clinical case studies for clinical reference. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select 50 patients who underwent closed thoracic drainage at the Third People's Hospital of Bijie City from April 2023 to April 2024.Basic patient data and the effectiveness scores of various diagnostic and treatment indicators were collected.By referencing literature,an evaluation index system for the closed thoracic drainage system was developed, based on the three theoretical dimensions of performance as-sessment:A(Availability),D(Dependability),and C(Capacity).A closed thoracic drainage model was established.Delphi expert consultation and physical fluid dynamics experiments were used to assess and validate the proposed system's content validity, while the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)was employed to determine the weight of each indicator. These resulted in the creation of the"Closed Thoracic Drainage System Performance Evaluation Form."Descriptive statistics,t-tests,and variance analysis were used to analyze the current status and influencing factors of the drainage volumes in patients. Results The constructed evaluation system for the closed thorac-ic drainage system includes three dimensions, with a structural validity of three main factors, explaining 63.61%of the total explained variance. The total score for evidence-based medical management of the closed thoracic drainage system ranged from 65 to 94,with an average and median score of 83.3 and 85.50,respec-tively,indicating a medium-to-high level of performance.Comparative analysis of performance scores for different diseases showed the highest scores for traumatic hemopneumothorax and spontaneous pneumothorax, followed by esophageal cancer, and the lowest scores for lung cancer. Conclusion The performance evaluation system for closed thoracic drainage provides clinical practitioners with standardized guidelines for diagnosis and treatment,re-ducing arbitrary and blind practices during medical procedures. This system ensures patient safety while effectively enhancing the quality of care and medical services, and highlights areas for improving healthcare services.
