Efficacy of Budesonide Nebulization in the Adjunctive Treatment of Pediatric Acute Laryngitis

Abstract：Objective Exploring the value of budesonide in the treatment of acute laryngitis in children.Methods Selecting 80 pediatric patients with laryngitis who received treatment at Daozhen County People's Hos-pital from February 2021 to February 2024,they weredivided into the budesonide nebulization inhalation group(observation group)and the dexamethasone nebulization inhalation group(control group)according to different treatment plans,with 40 cases in each group.We compared the levels of inflammatory factors,time to symptom res-olution,and clinical efficacy between two groups.Results Before treatment,there was no significant difference in CPR and PCT levels between the two groups of patients(P＞0.05);After treatment,the levels of inflammatory factors in both groups of patients decreased(P＜0.05),and the levels of inflammatory factors in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.001).The observation group had a shorter time for the disap-pearance of clinical symptoms such as cough,fever,hoarseness,laryngeal obstruction,and dyspnea compared to the control group(P＜0.001).The clinical effective rate of the observation group was 95.00％(38/40),which was higher than the control group's clinical effective rate 80.00％(32/40)(P＜0.05).Conclusion Budesonide nebulization treatment for acute laryngitis in children can effectively improve serum inflammatory marker levels,shorten the du-ration of clinical symptoms,and demonstrate high efficacy.
